The Home of the Homeless
My husband and I went for a walk in the Old Port of Montreal, not very far from home, last Sunday. We eventually wandered away from the water, and into the neighbouring streets.
We found some overpasses with a lot of character. Not only had they interesting graffitis on their posts and walls, but some homeless people had built small shelters within their arches, with whatever materials they could find.
I thought that it was sad and fascinating at the same. Sad, because being homeless in a country with winters as cold as we have is a terrible plight. However, I was fascinated to see how resourceful these people might be to improve a bit on their daily lives.
