April Softness

These crocuses are growing in the middle of our front lawn, where no crocuses have ever been planted. They started appearing about 3-4 years ago, a tiny patch of tender purple softness amidst the dry grass and unsightly dead weeds, leftover from the summer before.

I used a large aperture, hoping that the shallow DOF would throw out of focus the dead grass, and create a nice blur in its place. I also made it very bright to create the joyful atmosphere of high key, so representative of the spring season.
