Veiled Look
Self-portrait shot in manual mode using a tripod and remote shutter release, with a halogen desk lamp and a reflector for lighting.
The hard part was to get the focus right. I made about 20 shots, and most had a fabulous focus… on the eyelashes! Others were proof of how hard it is for a middle aged woman to pluck her own eyebrows when it gets impossible to see anything at close range without eyeglasses.
This one here was even worse than the others because the eye went completely out of focus. The hair however is really sharp and shiny, and would make my hairdresser proud! I thought that blurred eye had an air of mystery, like when women used to walk around with a thin veil over their face.
