Walking in a lane behind Park Avenue in Montreal, my sister and I came upon this intriguing wrought iron gate.

It was locked and the colourful paisley fabric hung on the inside of the gate made the little backyard very private and mysterious.

Paisley has always given me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. It’s probably so because of the cute little skirts with matching belts that my mom bought me when I was about 9. I just loved the colours and I felt very grown up wearing them…
